Labuan Bajo tour, Explore Padar Island

Padar island has always been a tourist destination for Flores tours. Hike Padar Island in Komodo for some of Indonesia’s most breathtaking views, and it’s easy to do on a day excursion from Labuan Bajo.

With steep hills, vast bays, and beaches that spread out in all directions, this location appears like a dinosaur country. This expedition would not be complete without a visit to the Komodo Islands!

On the north side of Padar Island, there’s even a pink beach with unusual reddish sand that’s become a popular stop on Komodo National Park cruises.

Padar Island is part of the Komodo National Park, an archipelago of islands off the coast of East Indonesia.

The nearest city is Labuan Bajo, a fishing village in Flores with its own airport and a variety of hotels and restaurants. Padar Island may only be visited by sailing trip Labuan Bajo.

The trek to the top of Padar Island is only 20-40 minutes long, depending on your speed.

Although there is now a cobblestone route leading all the way to the top, the journey remains steep and arduous. There are a few views along the way where you can rest while working your way to the peak for the best view.

Because there is very little shade on this trek and the heat in Komodo is scorching, expect to be fried on your trip up the hill! Bring plenty of water with you.

To keep people safe, park rangers are now stationed at regular intervals along the path. They’re kind, yet they’re clingy. Perhaps it was because we were the only tourists at the time, but they kept attempting to help us with everything and smothered us in cautions to the point of annoyance.
